MSRC Approves Dissertation Awards
MSRC recently approved three $2,000 awards in the third annual Dissertation Completion Award competition. Each year, MSRC makes awards available to doctoral students whose dissertation director is a current member of the Military Suicide Research Consortium. These awards are intended to provide necessary support for completion of a doctoral dissertation on a topic of relevance to the Consortium.
The approved individuals are:
Caroline Silva, from Florida State University was approved for "Effects of a Burdensomeness Manipulation and the Capability for Suicide on a Proxy for Lethal Approach Behavior".
Erin Poindexter, from Texas Tech University, was approved for "An Experimental Manipulation of Acquired Capability in a sample of Combat Veterans: A Longitudinal Study".
Finally, Sarah Victor of the University of British Columbia will be studying "The Contributions of Affect, Cognition, and Life Experiences to Self-Directed Violence".
