Dissertation Award

The Military Suicide Research Consortium is pleased to announce its tenth year of providing dissertation awards to doctoral students whose dissertation advisor is a current member of the MSRC. The awards of $2,000/each are intended to provide support and facilitate significant progress on a doctoral dissertation, with a topic of relevance to the MSRC. Abstracts of previously supported dissertations are available here.

Students are to submit the following materials:

  • A brief (3-5 double-spaced pages) description of their dissertation project which explains how the study is relevant to the mission of the MSRC
  • A brief written description of how funds will be used and an expected timeline for completion.
  • A letter of support from their dissertation advisor. The letter of support must address that the applicant is at an appropriate stage in their dissertation development process (i.e., the applicant will be able to make significant progress on the study during the funding period).
  • All funds need to be expended by the end of February 2022.

Funded students will be required to submit a final report at the end of February 2022 describing the status of their study and a statement of how the funds were expended.
